Glossary

The portal, the API and the assistant tools sometimes use different words for the same thing. This list ties them together.

Your data

  • Scraper. A saved way to read one source (a website, a file, a list of links or a sitemap) into rows. The portal also says automation, and in a few places “scrapper”. The API and MCP say scraper. See Read a website.
  • Group. A folder of scrapers whose rows belong together, for example the same products from several shops. Rules, schedules, exports and matching are set on the group. See Groups.
  • Run. One go of a scraper or a group. A run has a status, rows and errors. The API also calls it a job. See Runs and errors.
  • Row. One record, for example one product with its price.
  • Rule. A step that cleans or works out a value for every row, for example convert to EUR or price per unit. A group rule runs on every scraper of the group. See Rules for all scrapers.
  • Export. A file of rows. See Exports and delivery.

Product Matcher

  • Match run. One go of Product Matcher over a group. You start it yourself. Before it starts, the most it can cost is held in your wallet. See Run a match.
  • Line. One comparison you draw between a column of your list and a column of a shop, for example name to name. See Set up a match.
  • Step. Lines are put in steps. Step 1 decides first, and a row it cannot decide goes to the next step. See Steps, Floor and Max.
  • Floor and Max. The two limits of a step. Under the Floor a row is no match. At or above the Max it is a match. In between it goes to review.
  • Review. The pairs in between, which you decide by hand. Your decisions stay on the next run. See Results and review.
  • Photo check. Comparing the product pictures as well as the text. It costs extra per 1,000 pictures. See Photo check.

Access and money

  • Key. The secret text that lets code or an assistant act as you. A Read key looks at data. A Full key also changes things and starts runs. See Read or Full.
  • Wallet. Your prepaid balance in euros. A new account also gets 5 free requests. See Wallet and billing.
  • Micros. Amounts in answers end in Micros. 1,000,000 micros is EUR 1.
  • 402. The answer when the wallet is too low. See Errors.

For developers and assistants

  • MCP. Model Context Protocol, the way an AI assistant calls Scrapewise as a set of tools. See Connect your assistant (MCP).
  • Tool. One thing an assistant can call. See MCP tools.
  • Idempotency key. A unique text you send with a call that changes something, so a retry is not done twice. See API basics.
  • correlationId. The number of one call, in every error answer. Send it to support, see Errors.
